Not all journalists die
young.
Many live to die of old age.
Particularly those, who write
stories for the rich and powerful.
They go on to enjoy
the fine pleasures of a long life.
Not all journalist die
broke.
Some dig gold with their
pens. Sky is the limit in
these days of paid news.
Not all journalists are
popular.
Being popular requires you
to write for the mainstream,
but some write only for the
homeless and the tempest-tossed.
Not all journalists are able to keep
innocence in their smiles.
Some sell it to the highest bidder,
some get dejected
confronting the hard truth
day in and day out.
Not all journalists are
murdered.
This honor is reserved only for those
who keep showing us the mirror
day in and day out
reminding us of our hypocrisy.
Not all journalists live
after their deaths.
Only some do, whose death inspires
countless others, to follow their path.
