About
Anil Bairwal is an author, a poet, an activist, and a yoga enthusiast. As an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, with an engineering degree in Computer Science from MNNIT Allahabad, he tried his best to keep away from becoming a writer. First, he spent ten years in the IT industry in the USA and then, did a five-year stint coordinating a large pan-India coalition of NGOs to work on various social and political reforms. In the end, however, he could no longer suppress his itch and took to writing full time.
Inspiration for his first literary fiction novel THE GOOD THINGS ARE AROUND THE CORNER came from his interactions with artists across India when he worked as an activist. His poems and non-fiction writings have appeared in several online and offline publications. He also served as poet-in-residence at Basar Confluence in 2017.
Whether writing or not, Anil spends an hour or two every day doing yoga and meditation, and when not writing, he reads or travels to indulge in photography. He also has a tendency to disappear for days, weeks, or months at a whim. But when he is around, he spends his time equally between Rishikesh and Gurgaon.
